The German-born, 2001 RISD grad got his start working for Marc Jacobs, which proved to be a jumping off point for many creative projects---including a well-received menswear line called Cloak, and then a women's line called Herald---and in 2007, finally landing him with a menswear line under his own name. His designs are casual in a cutting edge kind of way; never too traditional, but never too "out there" either.
