REWORKSHOP SERIES W/ LAURS KEMP
Laurs Kemp is a Portland-based rework designer focusing on upcycling thrifted materials into one-off garments, documenting these sewing projects as tutorial videos, and hosting in-person reworkshops held on the mezzanine at Frances May.
During her residency she will be hosting a series of in-person reworkshops to empower participants to extend the life of their wardrobe through upcycling.

Arch Button-up Reworkshops
Saturday, September 28th, 2PM - 4:30PM
Saturday, October 12th, 2024 2PM - 4:30PM
In this project, we'll be tweaking the hem of a classic crisp button-up with an arched hem. This has been one of my most requested upcycles. It gives a bold, modern update to a classic garment. All you need to bring is your button-up of choice! I'll provide sewing machines and supplies.
Perfect for a beginner who wants a fun project as an entry point, as well as intermediate sewists who want to explore upcycling techniques. This is a 2.5 hour class with cutting, pinning and sewing, with guidance from Laurs all along the way.

Saturday, October 19, 2024 2PM - 4:30PM
In this project, we'll be sewing a pair of vintage cloth gloves to the garment of your choice. This has been one of my most requested upcycles, and lends an eye-catching, surreal detail. All you need to bring is your garment of choice: tanks, blouses, tops, light sweaters and blazers. I'll provide sewing machines, vintage gloves, and sewing supplies.
